Message Okay, so I'm having my friend weld me a towe hitch for my Z and was looking for some structual help on what would be the strongest method to use.

Method A illustrates a slit cut into the 2"x2" tube and the L bracket inserted and welded on all edges. The top/bottom triangles would also be welded if necessary for additional rigidity.

Method B illustrates the 2"x2" tube just placed on the inside of the L bracket and welded on all edges and possibly the same tirangle supports welded on the top and bottom.

The example below taken from zhome looks like he's used method A but any imput is appreciated.

So which is the best method????

THANK IN ADVANCE!
